Gouda: the city of the famous Dutch cheese

If you are in Amsterdam or Utrecht, take a train in the morning and spend a day in Gouda. A few less than 24 hours is more than enough to visit this cute city, known for its famous Gouda cheese - loved and consumed by the entire Holland and abroad. Everything is concentrated in its shopping center that is nothing more than a heap of tents spread across the main square, surrounded by bars, shops and restaurants. A little further away from this area, there are charming little houses and canals, as well as narrow streets that lead us to discover secrets of the local historical arquitecture. But only if you have time left. If not, plan on going especially on a Saturday, when the market is running full steam, preferably not during the winter season. Thus, you’ll have greater chances of finding and enjoying attractions, shows and competitions around the cheese universe.
